4th of July comes on a Tuesday this. We are looking forward to spending this time with our families and counting our blessings. This will mean a change to our market day. We will be having the market here on the farm on Monday July 3rd from 4 to 6. Hope to see you there.
This morning we were surrounded by fog. It was a beautiful sight. As I went for a walk on the lane I could see a faint rainbow which ended right on our greenhouse. It is so wonderful to live a place where there is beauty all around.
Tuesday, June 6th we held our first Farmer's Market of the season here on the farm. It was so fun to see the bounteous harvest of lettuce, spinach, chard, mustard greens, bok choy , beet greens and radishes. We invite everyone to come to our market on Tuesdays from 4 to 6 pm. You will find us on Robinson Lane in Bedford. Hope to see you there!!
Crop rotations are very important on the farm. Since some plants need the greenhouses to grow here it means the greenhouses need to be moved as well. Thanks to Fred and Bruce for setting up the moving of the greenhouses. They were able to weld attachments for pipes that then hooked on to the tractor so all they had to do was drive them to their new home. We are looking forward to having them all in place.
We are so excited to begin another year on the farm. In February we began planting. It is so amazing to see how fast the seeds seem to come up. We are looking forward to seeing all of you at the farm!!

These are some of our lettuce varieties. They've been beautiful and delicious so far this year.

Cucumbers are hoping for a greenhouse home soon. Our male workshares have been helping a lot as we are trying to salvage parts of the old greenhouse to make two smaller new ones.
Czeck Black Pepper. These are always the first peppers of the season. Aren't they pretty?
This is our garlic. The mountains look pretty in the background too.
Garlic scapes. The seed stalk of the garlic plant that tastes like garlic, but is chopped like a green onion.

Cabbage and broccoli have recovered nicely from the hail. It's miraculous really. They are a little behind schedule, but looking really well.
Squash plants are grown with black plastic mulch for added heat.
